Screen grab of eLearning Temprature and Pressure

E-Learning Creation – Understanding Fundamentals

The ask: We need a method to communicate the fundamentals for temperature and pressure to teammates.

This is an interactive e-learning course targeting teammates to understand how tire pressure works in large diameter tires. The tools utilized for this project were Articulate 360, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe After Effects.

Overview

The client of this product, the internal sales team in the mining section, needs to onboard new teammates in the fundamentals of temperature and pressure. They approached me with a vision to engage new mining sales teammates in the key understandings of the industry, particularly temperature and pressure. After exploring various options, we agreed that an eLearning module with knowledge checks would be the most effective way to achieve their goals. The learning objectives we settled on were:

  • Mining sales teammates will be able to identify the interaction between temperature and pressure.
  • Mining sales teammates will understand how tire pressure works in mining equipment.

With the learning objectives in mind and after consulting with the internal client, we settled on creating a scenario-based learning scenario in which the mining sales teammate will go through a scenario in a quarry measuring tire pressure at different times of the day and then proceed to a lesson on why those measurements matter and how tire pressure changes over time.

Process

For this design, I used Adobe Illustrator to modify assets purchased through a third-party asset website. Then, I used Adobe After Effects to create an immersive animation of the mining experience. Finally, I used Articulate 360 Storyline to develop an engaging and interactive learning experience, ensuring the new teammates actively participate in their learning process.

Final Product

The final product was a 15-minute experience in which users learned about temperature and pressure with a knowledge check. This product ended up being the beginning of a rollout of a software platform associated with mining.
