The ask: How can we provide information to tire operators on the floor when they need it?
This is a just-in-time project in which a support website was built to support a manufacturing process. The tools utilized for this project were Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Emma email marketing tool
Overview
During product deployments, the team encountered a challenge where employees who were used to working at a single station struggled when assigned to different ones. To resolve this, we identified the need for a just-in-time support system in English, French, and Spanish. After evaluating various use cases, we designed a scalable solution that directs users to relevant help materials as needed, providing timely guidance and reducing disruption.
Process
This design process began with Adobe Illustrator, where I crafted a circular QR code specifically for machinery in a shop environment. Next, I used Adobe InDesign to develop eight Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in both mobile and full-size formats, guiding users through the tire manufacturing process. Finally, I built a multilingual landing page using Emma, integrating the QR code and resources to ensure seamless access and navigation.
Final Product
The design process culminated in a 3-inch QR code and a set of comprehensive guides, along with multilingual websites in English, Spanish, and French. These resources effectively guide newcomers through the tire manufacturing process, ensuring they navigate each station successfully.
